Christian Foundations Course

Do you want to be grounded in the basic doctrines of Christianity, or do you want to learn more about what Christians believe and who Jesus is? Then this short course is for you.

This course has been put together to help students better understand the basics of Christianity. Whether you are a new or mature Christian, it is important to have this understanding. Even if you are strong in your understanding it is good practice to review the basics from time to time as this refreshes and reignites our passion for the Word. If our foundations are right, we tend to be doctrinally sound.

The course consists of eleven chapters.

  • Chapter 1 – Following Jesus
What it means and what the cost is.
  • Chapter 2 – Discipleship
What it means to be a disciple of Jesus and how to make disciples.
  • Chapter 3 – The Sermon on the Mount Part 1
This is Jesus’ manifesto and the basics of what He taught.
  • Chapter 4 – The Sermon on the Mount Part 2
  • Chapter 5 – Authority
To address our students as leaders and to point them in the right direction, which is that Christ is the Head of the Church and our example and He was the greatest servant leader ever.
  • Chapter 6 – Authority
Students are taught about authority and how it applies to God and satan.
  • Chapter 7 – Authority in the Church
The structures and functions and what it is and is not.
  • Chapter 8 – Catching the Vision of the Leader
Even though Christ is the Head of the Church, there is still a human who has been given Vision and responsibility for a section of the Body and we need to catch his or her Vision in order to effectively serve together.
  • Chapter 9 – The Kingdom of God
The Kingdom of God foretold and introduced to mankind.
  • Chapter 10 – Go Make Disciples
Fulfilling the Great Commission by preaching, teaching and baptising with signs and wonders following, including the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
